Opening Roda

It sucked that I had to leave early and could not stay for the party but man was I glad I was in time for the roda! Everyone was so on!

Everybody in the roda looked so good and it was so tight! My palms are all blue and black from all the atabaque-ing, but what the heck! Like as if I could sit still watching u guys have all the fun! (cursed jeans…)

The samba was awe-some! Everyone went a bit gila la I think in there hehe… really working out the endorphines haha! Even the new guys were all over it!

And I must say we scored ourselves a pretty quaint spot up there… and you know how I found it? I really did follow the sound of capoeira…! Clear as frikkin’ day… way to get the needed cheap publicity haha!

I feel kinda sad tho that I couldn’t spare the time to work on the academia with everyone since exam’s bitching about the corner (grumble grumble) but the place looked fabulous peeps! Just the right space, quaint, cozy and yet with a certain tinge of rawness about it… maybe we should consider getting a mural done? :) We have plenty of white walls rite? Ambience…

Anyways, a great big wallop on all yer backs for all the effort you guys put into the academy! Oh yeah, you should come up with a list of what other appliances or whateverlah that you still need for the place so that the academy does not turn out to be a dumping spot, full of shit that you ain’t never gonna use…

Oh well, shall spend these last drops of endorphines on my books now, yay.

Last Night…

by Tartaruga

June 1, 2004

I was truly inspired and touched (emotionally) by what transpired at the Academy…

Smiles and loud singing could only be seen and heard last night at the Academy, and I think we can safely assume that with this new establishment (our spanking new Academy!) and association with Bantus Capoeira have we brought the level of Capoeira in Malaysia up by a few (if not many!) notches…

Those who were there (and those who weren’t there but wished they were there!) made it all happen… Capoeira brought us all together in the roda, and you all contribute in every way… if last night wasn’ muito axe, I don’t know what is!! :)

Anyways, enough tear-jerking talk… will upload the photo’s tomorrow at a website for all to see!
