About Us

Grupo Bantus Capoeira Belo Horizonte Brazil

Grupo Bantus Capoeira was formed on the 20th of May, 1991 and there are now a number of schools in Belo Horizonte and the state of Minas Gerais as well as instructors teaching in Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. Mestre Pintor shares his positive energy and outlook along with his knowledge of Capoeira and gives great direction to the energy of the Bantus Capoeira group.

Although Pintor’s training was within Capoeira Angola we practice both Angola and Regional in Bantus Capoeira. In general it is the contemporary style of Capoeira that exists in today’s world, a mix of Capoeira’s varying historical influences. We also play Maculelé, Samba de Roda, Forró and sing loud with muito axé!

Bantus Capoeira Malaysia

Established in 2004, our organization was formed to develop, perform and promote Capoeira and its associated forms of Afro-Brazilian culture here in Malaysia. We aim to educate the public on the benefits of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle via these art forms. We maintain our own space for training and exhibiting Capoeira. Being an incorporated body further facilitates the achievement of our goals. We are a sporting and cultural organization with the following objectives:

  • To promote, develop and encourage and to assist in the promotion, and development of the game of Capoeira in the Asia Pacific region.
  • To promote a healthy lifestyle through self-expression, music and exercise.
  • To provide, control and maintain suitable grounds and premises for the playing and practice of the game of Capoeira.
  • To provide quality and up to date instruction in the game of Capoeira to members of our organization.
  • To improve our facilities and equipment for training and performance purposes.
  • To encourage the exchange of information and skills between the Association and Capoeira groups worldwide, in particular the Bantus Capoeira Group in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
  • To do any other act, matter or thing which may be deemed conducive to the interests of the organization or in the interests of the game of Capoeira.
