Rafa came to Malaysia 2 years ago without speaking the language or knowing anyone in Malaysia other than via a few brief phone conversations. Today he is the face of capoeira in Malaysia. As owner and head instructor of Bantus Capoeira Malaysia he has successfully raised the level of capoeira in Malaysia to new heights and inspired hundreds of aspiring capoeiristas throughout the country. His amazing capoeira skills have been used in commercials for regional and international brands such as Panasonic and 100 plus. Rafael's dedication to the cause promises more great capoeira and samba from the Malaysian Bantus Capoeira crew in years to come!

Quek received a scholarship to study in the United States and graduated from an Ivy League university but decided to leave the trappings of the corporate life to pursue his dream to be an entrepreneur and capoeirista. As owner and managing director of Bantus Capoeira Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Quek has established Bantus Capoeira Malaysia as the most instantly recognizable capoeira group in Malaysia. A very important part of his job is also as a capoeira performer and these performances have led to many roles and appearances for in TV as well as print media for brands such as F&N and V-Soy. Quek's vision and drive has brought Bantus Capoeira Malaysia to where it is today!
