Important Notes About the Batizado Ceremony

Please note that your registration for the festival does not automatically guarantee that you will receive your first or new belts during the ceremony. Our mestre and your instructor will be responsible to award eligible students with their new belts at their discretion.

You are required to own a pair of official Bantus Capoeira Abadas (Pants) to be eligible to for grading.

Payments

Payments can be submitted to our instructors, Mr. Rafael Rosario or Mr. Quek Wei Kin in the form of cash or check made payable to Bantus Capoeira Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

As with all major events, things won’t be able to take off quite as spectacularly without your participation. Take this time to get to know your immediate and extended Bantus family, help out with preparations at the academy, make new friends and be a part of something fun and exciting!

Closing date for registration is Monday, OCT 27 so please hurry!

We have had many requests to start teaching classes in KL and finally we are proud to announce that Bantus Capoeira is now officially in Kuala Lumpur! We will be conducting capoeira and samba classes at the Bom Brazil Churrascaria, Changkat Bukit Bintang on Mondays and Fridays starting this September.

Check out this free trial on Friday at Academy. If all goes well, we will be having regular yoga classes several times a week. Come on over for a great stretch before your regular capoeira class. Non-Bantulinos welcomed as well!

We are celebrating 4 years of Bantus Capoeira this Sunday 18th May with a road trip and potluck picnic to the Chemang Waterfall in Bentong Pahang. Let us know what you are bringing by emailing myself or Rafa - or better yet post it up on the signup form at the academy.

Our neighbour Graduado Claudinho from sunny Singapore is coming up to visit us in a couple of weeks. He will be giving two special capoeira workshops at the academy.

Sorry guys this is waaaay overdue… haven’t had a solid internet connection for awhile now. Rafa, Kennedy and I just want to thank everyone who has helped and is continuing to help with our ongoing process in preparation for our theatre production. Especially to Coelho, Marissa, Denise, Sophie, Lynn, Perereca, Durim, Cabecao, Catatao, Sara, Pinguin, Mael, Pravin, Fernanda, Victor, Joao’s wife and daugther, who stayed late at the academy to help out with the filming of our trailer, Alvin, Elain, and Zalfian who have been facilitating the workshops, our media planning team lead by Lee Ann, our art and design team lead by Stanley and Terry and everyone who has been showing up at the academy after class on Mondays and Wednesdays for the workshops… really sorry if I have forgotten anyone. Looking good so far so lets keep the momentum going!
