Rafa, Kennedy and I just want to thank everyone who has helped and is continuing to help with our ongoing process in preparation for our theatre production. Especially to Coelho, Marissa, Denise, Sophie, Lynn, Perereca, Durim, Cabecao, Catatao, Sara, Pinguin, Mael, Pravin, Fernanda, Victor, Joao's wife and daugther, who stayed late at the academy to help out with the filming of our trailer, Alvin, Elain, and Zalfian who have been facilitating the workshops, our media planning team lead by Lee Ann, our art and design team lead by Stanley and Terry and everyone who has been showing up at the academy after class on Mondays and Wednesdays for the workshops... really sorry if I have forgotten anyone. Looking good so far so lets keep the momentum going!

Three cheers to all you Bantulinos for making this years 4th Capoeira Festival a great success! Congratulations to all who got baptized and troca de corda as well.

This year we had something for everyone..... We had:

The Bantus Kids contingent.... all smiles and giggles but muuuuuuuch better behaved than usual. Must be all the parents and foreign instructors lurking around haha.

The local crew doing some maculele. Love this picture... looks like a three headed monster or something.

Our little samba band! Great show with muito energia. Got the hot Brazilian babes on the dance floor as well

The street roda on Jalan Bukit Bintang was packed. There must have been hundreds of people crammed in there to have a look.

The memories are still so fresh in my mind! At the risk of sounding cheesy, I have to say that time flies when you are having fun. Looking back at the year gone by, Bantus Capoeira Malaysia has really grown and matured as a group. To the seniors, your commitment has been excellent and I want to congratulate you guys for all you’ve done. For our fresh batch of Bantulinos, it’s great to see you guys training so hard and with so much enthusiasm, keep up the good work.

However, lets’ not start patting each other on the back quite yet because the highlight of the year is just around the corner. Its time to buckle down and focus and I want to see everyone give it a final push to prepare for this years Festival! That means, busting your behind in class, coming for Saturday rodas and just playing as much capoeira as you can from now till October.

    *Important Notes About the Batizado Ceremony:
    1. Please note that your registration for the festival does not automatically guarantee that you will receive your first or new belts during the ceremony.

    3. You are required to own a pair of official Bantus Capoeira Abadas (Pants) to be eligible to for grading.

As with all major events, things won’t be able to take off quite as spectacularly without your participation. Just ask any of our seniors; helping out, hanging out at the academy, and getting to know the gang better are all part of the fun of capoeira at Bantus.
